Job Purpose:


Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will support and perform, when necessary, the preparation of all sales and inventory reconciliation reports, you will prepare journals and reconcile key control accounts to ensure accurate month end close. You will also support all Invest Northern Ireland (INI) application and grant claims and provide additional support when needed.





  • As a member of the Finance team you will assist in the preparation of month end financial information to ensure that the 4-day close is achieved, including preparing and posting journals and the input of all financial data into corporate reporting database.
  • You will provide KPI information required by department management and corporate management.
  • As a member of the Finance team you will assist in the preparation of quarterly forecasts and annual budgets, including collating all necessary Revenue, Cost of Sales, and Expense information and the input of all financial data into corporate reporting database.
  • You will assist the Financial Controllers in aspects of financial management as the need arises, e.g. take part in factory stocktakes, assist annual standard cost reviews, assist make/buy process, assist NPPD Gate reviews, assist Ballymoney costing reviews.
  • You will attend meetings where financial input is required as requested by the Director of Finance.



Assistant Accountant – Person Specification


  • Educated to degree level, ideally in an Accounts capacity. Qualified or part qualified in professional accountancy exams.
  • Previous experience working within Financial and Cost Accountancy in a Manufacturing environment.


  • Strong systems knowledge and proficient in Excel Spreadsheets and Microsoft word, Experience working with Oracle or similar ERP system.
  • The ability to prioritise and thrive in a fast-moving business in order to meet tight deadlines, working overtime and travelling when necessary.
  • Strong communication both oral and written with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • The willingness to cross train with colleagues and be flexible within a fast-moving Finance team environment.
