Project Worker 3/Senior Social Work Practitioner

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time PW3/Senior Social Work Practitioner within a well-established, experienced team in Simpson Family Resource Centre (SFRC), based in Bangor, County Down.  This is a fixed-term post until the end of March 2020 in the first instance.

Simpson Family Resource Centre works in partnership with the South Eastern Health & Social Care Trust to deliver a variety of parenting assessments and education, for example:

  • Ability to Protect Assessments
  • Rehabilitation and Community Based Assessments
  • Capacity to Change Assessments
  • Education and support for parents as identified by the Trust

SFRC prides itself on engaging and supporting parents to enable them to resume and/or continue care of their children.  We offer individualized assessment packages in recognition of the diverse and unique needs of each and every family.  An extensive knowledge of the factors impacting on children and families is required, for example domestic abuse, mental health, drug/alcohol misuse, as well as at least 3 years’ post-qualifying experience in a statutory setting undertaking complex assessments and contributing to decision-making forums such as Court, Child Protection Case Conferences and Looked After Child Reviews.

You should have demonstrable experience in applying effective, accredited and evidence informed/based interventions to improve outcomes for children.

A waiting list will be held in the event that similar vacancies arise during the next 9 months

Secondment may be considered, however approval must be sought from current Manage
