Salary: Band 5 (£23,866 – £28,221 per annum)

Role

Belfast Met are seeking to appoint a Senior Library & Information Services Officer on a permanent full time basis.

The post holder will supervise teams within the Library and Information Service to provide a high quality, efficient and effective learning resource support service to College learners.

What you need:

Essential Criteria

  • EITHER hold a minimum of a qualification at BTEC Higher, or NVQ Level 5, or above, in a relevant subject PLUS a minimum of ONE years’ recent experience of working in a library environment
  • OR hold a professional library qualification at level 4 (accredited by the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals) PLUS a minimum of TWO years’ recent experience of working in a library environment
  • English Language GCSE Grade C or above OR Essential Skills level 2 (or higher) in Communication, or equivalent
  • Maths GCSE Grade C or above OR Essential Skills level 2 (or higher) in Numeracy, or equivalent
  • A minimum of one year’s recent experience (in the last 5 years) of supervising staff 
  • Recent demonstrable experience in the use of ICT systems, including Microsoft Office and Library Management Systems
  • Demonstrable front line library experience – all aspects of library operations including issuing books and cataloguing
  • Experience of working with others and in teams to deliver successful outcomes
  • Demonstrable customer service experience
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
