Working as part of the Physical Sciences team based in our global headquarters in Craigavon, you will be responsible for performing solid state R&D activities on behalf of external clients or in support of Almac Sciences’ chemistry projects.

The Role
Working as part of the Physical Sciences team based in our global headquarters in Craigavon, you will be responsible for performing solid state R&D activities on behalf of external clients or in support of Almac Sciences’ chemistry projects. These include, but are not limited to polymorphism studies, salt or cocrystal screens, investigation of batch to batch variability and the development of early enabling formulations for small molecule APIs.

Essential Criteria

  • Degree level qualification (or equivalent) in a Life Science related discipline
  • Previous experience within Solid State characterisation of small molecule APIs (i.e XRPD, TGA, DSC, DVS, etc)

Desirable Criteria
(The following criteria may be applied if a large pool of applicants exist)

  • Masters or PhD level qualification (or equivalent) in Pharmaceutical development of small molecule APIs
  • Previous experience within the solid state screening in a CRO for pharmaceutical or veterinary industry
  • Understanding of the importance of solid state properties on the development of new APIs
