The role:

We require a highly motivated Logistics Planner to join a busy team in a fast-paced environment.  The Logistics Planner will be responsible for the planning and co-ordination of logistics movement to and from site and all administrative duties relating to these. 

Your duties will include:

  • Booking of daily logistics for site based on orders received from sales team
  • Cost control for logistics
  • Liaise with transport companies daily to ensure accurate load times, intake times and correct pallet counts and customer locations
  • Creation of daily address list to enable Despatch team to label jumbos and dolavs appropriately for daily shipping orders
  • Ensure Despatch team complete daily loading plan and record actual figures despatched
  • Organise transport for the return of empty dolavs and product rejects as and when they occur; complete purchase order and forward to relevant transport company
  • Organise transport for the despatch of frozen product from cold stores
  • Order pallets as and when required
  • Liaise with HSF and Palletbox to ensure correct packaging stocks available for production to continue
  • Weekly forecast demand and balance for dolavs and pallets supplied to team
  • Liaise with sales team and finance team on shipping queries
  • Liaise with customers on the availability of product in cold stores and deliveries of their orders
  • Attend daily production meetings and update on performance/ issues if appropriate

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills / qualifications / attributes: –

Essential Criteria: 

  • Candidates must possess GCSE Maths and English at grade C and above or equivalent
  • The ability to prioritize and meet deadlines with a strong approach
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Capable of independent working
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • IT Literate
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience working within the food industry

Hours of work:

  • Monday to Friday: 8.00am-4.30pm
