Role

Belfast Met are seeking to appoint an IT Trainer on a full time basis.

Ensuring the smooth and effective delivery of scheduled training offered to College staff and specific to the technology applications that make up the College’s ‘Virtual Learning Environment’ (VLE). You will manage, design, develop, coordinate and conduct large or small scale training programs –in a classroom setting or online. Additionally, this role will co-ordinate the drop in support service in the Technology & Learning HUB (our specialist TEL centre) and staff this service with the support of other team members.

What you need:

Qualifications / Experience / Knowledge

  • Hold a Level 4 Certificate (HNC or equivalent) in a related discipline PLUS Have a minimum of 1 years’ recent full time experience in delivering both group and one-to-one IT based training programmes.  This experience must have been in the last five 5 years OR Have 2 years’ recent full time experience in delivering both group and one-to-one IT based training programmes. This experience must have been in the last five 5 years
  • Proven working experience in coordinating IT based training in a corporate or educational setting
  • Demonstrable experience in designing and delivering training programmes to train out the use of tech related applications
  • Demonstrable Experience in the use of ‘off the shelf’ Learner Management Systems (such as Blackboard; Canvas; D2L etc.)
  • Demonstrable Experience of using interactive whiteboards
  • Demonstrable experience of completing the full training cycle; providing an example against each of the following: Assessing the needs of those being trained, Planning for the delivery of a training session, Designing a training programme , Delivering a training session and monitoring trainee engagement, Evaluating the training session
  • Demonstrable Experience in the use of TEL products and activities (e.g. ClickView; Socrative; Kahoot; Nearpod; Menti etc.)
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
