Location:Belfast

Contract:Temporary/Part Time

Salary:£30.77 per hour

Closing date:12 noon on Wednesday 18th September 2019

Role:A-Level Substitute Lecturer Register – Geography

In preparation of the new academic year the College is inviting applications to it’s A-Level Substitute Lecturer Register Update (Temporary), providing an opportunity for suitably qualified and skilled individuals to assist in the delivery of full and part-time courses in a number of AS/A Level subjects.

The College A Level programme is a vibrant and rewarding experience for all staff involved and new tutors are provided with support by subject teams & pastoral care Year Heads. Cover staff may be brought in at short notice and are expected to display a high level of commitment and expertise so that the learners in their care can achieve the best possible grades. All tutors are expected to adhere to and implement departmental policies on teaching & learning, discipline and assessment in an environment which welcomes and challenges students in equal measure.

Please note cover is required for AS/A Level subjects during the day only.

Access courses may be delivered both day and evening.

What you need:

Qualifications

• GCSE English Language (Grades A-C) OR Essential Skills Level 2 or higher in Communication, or equivalent

• GCSE Mathematics (Grades A-C) OR Essential skills Level 2 or higher in Application of Number, OR NICATS Access Maths Modules or equivalent

• Hold a relevant Degree in Geography or a related discipline

Knowledge/Experience

• Experience of teaching this subject at A-Levels or above for a period of at least 1 academic year within the last 5 years
