We are looking to recruit a Tax Incentives Manager / Senior Associate within the Business Tax Advisory Team.

The opportunity
We are looking to recruit a Tax Incentives Manager / Senior Associate within the Business Tax Advisory Team. 
EY’s Belfast Tax Incentives business is the largest team in Northern Ireland dedicated to the provision of R&D tax credit advice, patent box advice and capital allowances.  In recent years the Belfast Tax Incentives business has gone through a period of rapid growth, becoming the largest business of its kind in NI.
The Tax Incentives team advise clients across a broad range of industries, including agri-foods, aviation, automotive, utilities, construction, aggregates, software, defence and chemicals. Clients range from multibillion pound listed groups to local SMEs and entrepreneurial start-ups.

Key responsibilities:

This role includes advising businesses on R&D tax credit claims, patent box claims as well as conducting technical interviews.  Stakeholder relationship building is a key element of this role.
As a Manager you will also be responsible for managing the workload of your team as well as acting as an escalation point for all queries.  As a Senior, you will be expected to develop junior members of the team, providing advice and guidance as well as reviewing work if required.
To qualify for the role you must have:
  • Experience of advising businesses on R&D tax credit claims and / or patent box claims, including experience of technical interviews with competent professionals
  • Experience of preparing supplementary R&D reports for submission to HMRC
  • Experience of managing junior staff and reporting directly to senior management
  • A degree in science, engineering or similar technical discipline would be welcomed but not essential.
