Hours: Rotation shift pattern across Monday to Sunday as required and flexibility to be able to cover at short notice and to work unsocial hours (nights, evenings and weekends)

Client Group: Adults who are suffering the effects of addiction and homelessness

Job Summary:

Work as part of a team to provide effective addiction recovery and housing support services to assist and support services users develop their capacity to live independently free from addiction.

Purpose:

The support worker will work directly with the resident to provide effective 24 hours support services within accommodation units. The support worker will assist in the provision of high quality professional housing support services to those who are affected by alcohol/gambling misuse and or related problems. Support workers will undertake needs and risk assessments which form part of the support planning process, addressing identified needs, aspirations and goals. Support workers will also work in partnership with service user’s family members/close friends and other health professionals.

The successful candidate will require:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 4 GCSE’s at Grade C or above including Maths and English or an equivalent qualification or above.
  • One year’s full time relevant experience within the past five years of working directly with people in a supportive environment suffering from addiction.
  • Experience of working directly with individuals with complex needs.
  • This experience must include proven ability of having worked with people presenting with Alcohol/Gambling addiction and or Homelessness
  • Ability to undertake risk assessments, risk management needs assessment and Support planning
  • Good standard of IT skills
  • Sound knowledge of the legislative requirements for working with vulnerable adults and data protection
  • Work as part of a team, caring and positive disposition, self-motivated and a good organiser
  • Flexible and adoptable approach to working arrangements
