Job Title: Software Tester

Location: Pilot Point, Belfast     

Responsible to: Head of Testing and Release     

Main Purpose of Job

TotalMobile Ltd develop mobile working solutions for a wide range of markets in the Local Government, Healthcare and Private Sectors. Our product is designed to improve efficiencies, reduce costs and increase productivity and is multi-platform working natively on all major devices and platforms including iOS, Windows and Android.

Totalmobile are seeking an excellent software tester with good technical skills to help uncover the capabilities of the TotalMobile platform. You can expect to work with a range of technologies and will be exposed to all stages of the product lifecycle. As a technical tester you will expect to gain experience of our mobile platform and deliver end to end software solutions across a number of areas including web and mobile applications. You’ll be expected to be as careful about what lies behind the UI as you are about UX and as focussed on making the right thing as you are on making something that works well.  You will be involved in planning and estimating user stories into testing tasks and will be thinking of automating your best test cases as you find them. The successful candidate will be very passionate about software testing and technology and will take pride in their work. You will be highly motivated with the ability to learn new software rules quickly.        

Main tasks of Job 

  • Testing in whatever area you are assigned using a variety of test techniques and types
  • Technical testing and profiling of AUT.
  • Assist in automation of manual test cases for UI and API
  • Upgrade and maintenance of test environments and documentation
  • Involvement in planning and software release activities
  • Defect Management
  • Any other duties as assigned

Employee Specification

Essential

  • Third level IT qualification
  • Manual software testing experience in web or mobile testing capacity.
  • Experience of using database and network profiling tools
  • Experience of writing SQL queries
  • Experience of automated test scripting within a known test automation framework
  • Experience of creating and maintaining documentation as part of the test process
  • Agile working experience
  • Proven ability to successfully troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues
  • Passionate about software testing
  • Strong exploratory testing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong awareness of mobile or web technologies
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Good decision making/problem solving skills
  • Strong analytical, planning and organizational abilities

Desirable

  • ISTQB-ISEB Certified Tester Foundation Level
  • Experience using Selenium / Appium or similar
  • Understanding of Continuous Integration/Development
  • Programming experience with Java/C#/ other OOP language
  • API testing tools such as Postman
  • Experience of mobile application systems (iOS / Android)
  • Experience testing complex software solutions
  • Experience creating, upgrading and maintaining web-based test environments
  • Experience with web and database servers

Circumstances

Applicants must be flexible and willing to work additional hours when necessary.

A full, clean driving licence is desirable but not essential.
