Proofpoint are hiring a Senior System Administrator to join our Client Services team, with experience in managing Shoretel infrastructure and proficient with Windows, OSX and Linux platforms.


The Role

Proofpoint is a next-generation cybersecurity company that protects the way people work today.  We are seeking a Senior System Administrator to join our Client Services team.  The Client Services team provides tools and services which are consumed by our HelpDesk and internal employees.  The individual hired will share responsibility for the Shoretel phone system and several internal end-user applications.  Our ideal candidate will have several years experience managing Shoretel infrastructure and be proficient with Windows, OSX and Linux platforms.  The person will be skilled at automating using PowerShell, bash, python or other scripting languages.  It is crucial to have in depth experience managing application services and implementing on premise infrastructure. A solid working knowledge of standard IT methodologies and processes is necessary for success in this role. 

Your day-to-day

  • Shared responsibility for installation, implementation, management, and upgrades of the various applications provided by the Client Services team including:  Shoretel on premise phone system, McAfee ePO, Code42 Crashplan, JAMF, MDT, WSUS and others
  • Research and recommend new technologies and services
  • Work with Network and Server teams to define and complete application deployments successfully
  • Develop and maintain documentation for supported applications, processes, and training material to internal employees and IT staff
  • Act as an escalation point, providing Tier III/IV support where needed

What you bring to the team

  • Extensive experience of infrastructure administration with several of the following:
    • Shoretel on premise phone system
    • McAfee ePO
    • Code42 Crashplan
    • JAMF
    • MDT
    • WSUS
  • Experience supporting Windows and Mac client Operating Systems and hardware
  • Experience of Windows or Linux server administration
  • Understanding and experience with concepts such as DNS, DHCP, SSL certificates, OSI Model, and TCP/IP
  • Skilled at writing scripts and creating tools used by yourself and your team
  • A belief that testing and validation are part of the process
  • Basic project management skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, sharing your knowledge with others on a globally dispersed team
