This is an exciting opportunity to participate in the development of clinically advanced, automated external defibrillators (AEDs). Working in the Belfast R&D software team, the successful candidate will investigate and develop the interface between the hardware and embedded system software which is at the heart of our lifesaving equipment. Developing new and innovative medical devices as well as supporting existing products, the role requires someone who enjoys a hands-on approach to creating world-class technology that saves lives.

What You Will Do:
You will design, develop, test, debug and implement operating systems components, software tools and utilities. Determine systems software design requirements. Ensure that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency. Generate systems software engineering policies, standards and procedures. You will work with marketing, other software developers, electrical engineers, clinical researchers, scientists, operations, and verification engineers in a team environment to meet business and quality objectives, and synthesize market needs into quality software implementation. Plan, develop, and execute tests for software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products.
You Will Also:
Design/develop part of a new product or system
Design to specification and generate the required documentation for each phase of the design cycle
Understand and apply the Company Quality Procedures and actively contribute to and within, the company’s Quality System
Understand and apply all appropriate Regulatory and Safety Requirements to any product/project design undertaken or proposed
Document design changes according to Company Quality Procedures
Support the modification, redesign or maintenance of existing products
Maintain awareness of the latest technologies and design methodologies
Attend and contribute to Design Review meetings
Identify, specify and implement debugging and test requirements for designs and/or existing products
What You Need:
Bachelor’s degree in software or electrical engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience.
Experience of working on Hardware/Software Interface
Experience of C/C++ and/or C#
What We Prefer You Have:
Digital signal processing
ARM processors (m0, m3, m4 cortex and dual core).
Experience of medical devices
Experience working within a regulated quality system
MS Visual Studio
IAR Embedded Workbench
