 Job Description

As a Workday Consultant within the internal Business Systems team in Kainos you will be responsible for ensuring that Workday meet the needs of our employees

Main purpose of role & level in the business:

As a Workday Consultant within the internal Business Systems team in Kainos you will be responsible for ensuring that Workday meet the needs of our employees, iterating and continuously improving the system based on feedback and in response to changes required to support our high growth organisation.  You will also be responsible for investigating new features to help deliver business value and address user pain points.

  • Triage system change requests, assessing the level of complexity and the risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies associated with each change
  • Understand and amend existing processes in order to deliver operational efficiencies to the business as well as provide users with an efficient service
  • Work closely with various internal functions to successfully roll out new products or iterations, ensuring sufficient testing has been performed in advance
  • Manage and perform regular regression testing and advance testing of bi-annual upgrades
  • Ability to research new Workday features not yet adopted by Kainos


Minimum (essential) requirements:

  • Broad business and technology understanding and a good awareness of industry trends in either Human Resource management or Financials
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and make sensible decisions under pressure taking a balanced view of internal customer demands
  • Willing to mentor and/or manage more junior consultants
  • Ability to learn technology quickly through instruction and self-training
  • Strong communicator, able to communicate with customers and colleagues with impact, credibility and empathy
  • Excellent customer focus, able to assess customer needs, build relationships and manage customer expectations. You will know when to push back, when to escalate, and when to go above and beyond to satisfy a customer



  • Workday HCM or Financials experience
  • Professional qualifications in your area of expertise


Other considerations:

  • Travel will not be required, except on limited occasions for training, conferences etc.
