Full time Despatch Operator position in Craigavon (£8.84 per hour).


We are inviting applications for a

FULL-TIME DESPATCH OPERATOR

Based in Craigavon, Co. Armagh, Wilson’s Country Ltd specialises in pre-packed, peeled and cooked prepared potatoes.  We supply food retailers, caterers and food processing companies with a range of products, offering quality, taste, full traceability and value for money.

The successful applicant will be responsible for collating orders and loading trailers and tasks will include:

  • Printing off orders
  • Entering label details, printing labels and labelling goods
  • Picking orders
  • Building and wrapping pallets as necessary
  • Stock rotation
  • Loading trailers
  • Printing despatch dockets and any necessary despatch paperwork
  • General production duties on an as and when required basis.
  • This role will involve extensive manual handling activities, repetitive lifting and handling of weights up to 25kg.

Applicants must have a flexible approach to job description, as duties will vary in accordance with operational requirements and individual skills and the post holder may be assigned to other skilled roles within the production department.

Hours of work:

This is a full-time vacancy and working hours will be 10.00am to 7.00pm, Monday to Friday, although Saturday work on a rota basis may also be required.

Applicants must have:

  • A qualification or licence to operate a counterbalance forklift truck, which must have been obtained within the last 3 years;
  • Relevant experience  (preferably gained in a production environment, ideally food production);
  • A good standard of literacy and numerical skills;
  • At least basic computer skills:
  • Good communication skills which meet the requirements of the role in full;
  • Effective organisational skills;
  • A good general awareness of food hygiene, health and safety and quality aspects;
  • The ability to work on their own initiative, with minimum supervision, as well as part of a team.
  • A valid electric power pallet truck licence would be preferable.
