ob Description Main purpose of role & level in the business: The Financial Associate is responsible for performing a wide variety of accounting tasks which will include, but is not limited to, the following duties:


  • Responsible for maintaining and updating the cash book
  • Credit card statements matching invoices/receipts and reconciling accounts
  • Weekly reconciliation for various bank accounts in a variety of currencies
  • Review of employee expense submission in line with Kainos’ expense policy
  • Assist with the monthly payroll process
  • Assist with credit control tasks as required
  • Assist with the completion of all Group VAT reconciliations and returns
  • Assist with month end tasks and balance sheet reconciliations 
  • Liaise with other departments in Kainos (e.g. Admin, Systems, HR and Operations)
  • Prepayment and accruals posting and reconciliation
  • General finance support to the rest of the team 
  • Provide support to the Finance Manager and Financial Controller as required

 

Minimum (essential) requirements:

  • Completion of relevant Finance / Accounting Degree – attained 2:2 classification or above
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word

 

Desirable:

  • Experience in a relevant working environment
  • Knowledge of accounting software e.g. Workday or a similar package
  • Existing accounting qualification, or desire to complete same e.g. CIMA, ACA, ACCA
