Fabricator/Sheet Metal Worker

Job Type: Full-time

Salary:  Up to £32,500 /year dependant on candidate and experience


Axis Technology and Development Ltd currently supply food processing solutions. We provide bespoke harvesting applications utilising robotics, rapid prototyping, mechanical and electrical engineering.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop various machinery which can be utilised to reduce overall production costs within the world-wide food processing industry. The successful candidate will be part of a small design team and afforded a level of autonomy and responsibility, as such this role is most suitable to a self-starter willing to jump in to the tasks at hand.

Candidates will be expected to provide mechanical fabrication and sketching capabilities, but the role will also include time management and commissioning. This role will also involve international travel and expenses will be paid.


We currently have a number of roles open and therefore are willing to consider candidates with a range of experience.

The successful candidates will be expected to provide:

  • Initial concept drawing/sketching
  • Sheet metal/stainless/aluminium fabrication experience
  • Maintain technical specifications
  • Demonstrated engineering expertise and ability to improve products or services
  • Strong attention to detail, good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise with changing situations
  • Solid analytical skills and judgement to proactively identify and solve increasingly complex problems
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
  • Complete Site visits for trialling and installation purposes

Desirable Qualities:

  • Extensive Welding and Fabrication experience in a wide area (stainless, TIG, MIG, Manual Arc etc)
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Health & Safety Qualifications
  • Purchasing experience
  • 3D Modelling (preferably Solidworks)
  • Detailed engineering drawings for manufacture
