About the position

As a DevOps Engineer in our team you will play an instrumental role in shaping the future cloud operations function by challenging and influencing the way we operate. Through the well-established DevOps spirit you will be working collaborative with software development teams to harness the fast-phased movement of change through development and into production.

Your main areas of responsibility (but not limited to):

  • Execute on a strong functional understanding of SaaS-based core technologies delivered by Azure and AWS.
  • Manage a broad scope of deployed cloud solutions, from the OS level to the client GUI.
  • Keep current on company’s core ECM products via ongoing internal training and use
  • Manage/maintain Azure and AWS infrastructure to ensure proper deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of our products.
  • Proven experience with web application management.
  • Monitor system status, activity, performance metrics and capacity.
  • Work closely with Development resources to ensure proper environment deployment, high operating efficiency, and seamless on-boarding of new solutions/products.
  • Work flexible hours to mitigate the impact to production systems within the course of a service-impacting outage.
  • Participate in weekly on call rotation.
  • Work collaboratively as part of the Cloud team and ensure appropriate transfer of technical knowledge to other team members.

Furthermore, you will be responsible to continuously optimize and improve the way we monitor and safeguard the cloud solutions. Ensuring that we have robust and relevant automation will also be one of your responsibilities. If you are inclined towards security you will be offered to explore this further.

Required Experience

Candidates for this position should hold the following qualifications, have the following experience, and be able to demonstrate the following competencies to be considered as a suitable applicant. Please note that except where specified as “preferred,” or as a “plus,” all points listed below are considered minimum requirements.

  • Bachelors Degree/HND in Computer Science, Software Engineering or in a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience managing SaaS solutions in Azure and AWS.
  • Past experience with setup/maintenance of system monitoring software such as New Relic, Dynatrace, Nagios. Logic Monitor, Splunk or Loggly
  • Proven experience with web application management & deployment using Chef, Anisble or Terraform.
  • Proven experience with the Atlassian tool stack (Jira, Confluence & Bitbucket)
  • Proven experience with TFS or Azure Devops, or comparable toolsets.
  • Consume/have literacy using source code & binary repositories
  • Automate processes/code in Python, Ruby or node.js a plus
