We are seeking to recruit a Full-time Assistant Production Supervisor (DAY SHIFT) based in Craigavon, Co. Armagh.

The Company:

Based in Craigavon, Co. Armagh, Wilson’s Country Ltd specialises in pre-packed, peeled and cooked prepared potatoes.  We supply food retailers, caterers and food processing companies with a range of products, offering quality, taste, full traceability and value for money.

The Role:

We are seeking to recruit a Full-time Assistant Production Supervisor.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the successful candidates work closely with a Production Supervisor to oversee a work area and supervise activities associated with the effective and efficient production and despatch of products in accordance with customer requirements, quality standards, food safety and health and safety standards.  Duties will also include running a production line and operating machinery.

Main supervisory duties will include:

  • Production planning 
  • Production performance
  • Supervising and supporting production staff
  • Overseeing quality, housekeeping, hygiene and health and safety in relevant work areas

This is a full-time vacancy for 40+ hours per week, based on working five days out of six, Monday to Saturday.

The Person:

We are looking for applicants with:

  • Relevant experience in a food production environment,
  • Good communication, interpersonal and delegation skills and the ability to effectively interact with and motivate staff at all levels,
  • Effective planning and organisational skills,
  • Effective decision making skills and a pro-active approach to problem solving,
  • The ability to work on own initiative within minimum supervision,
  • A good general awareness of food hygiene, health and safety and quality,
  • A flexible approach to working hours,
  • A good basic standard of computer literacy and a good standard of literacy and numerical skills will be essential for this role as it involves calculating figures, data entry, records etc.
