Exciting opportunity for a Accountant to join its expanding team.

The opportunity has arisen to join an industry leader in UK’s Building Services providers. We design, develop and deliver a wide range of offsite-prefabricated, innovative and sustainable building service solutions throughout the UK & Ireland.

Alternative Heat specialises in the design, supply and installation of a wide range of Pre-Fabricated energy solutions, typically built in NI and shipped throughout the UK & Ireland. We also offer turnkey design, build & operate solutions for commercial energy centers and large-scale district heating solutions and have experience with successfully procuring and delivering many similar packages to a wide range of public body’s throughout Ireland & UK.

We are currently looking to fill the role of Accountant to support our growing Accounts Team in our fabulous new Head Quarters based in Banbridge. This post is a permanent contract and offers an amazing opportunity for a candidate who wants to gain experience with a progressive and dynamic company to further their career.

Job summary:

This is a key role in the provision of management and financial information for Alternative Heat Limited. You will work closely with the finance manager in the delivery of a varied portfolio of work. Full in-house training will be given.

Responsibilities of role:

  • Monthly management accounts preparation including full reconciliation of all Balance Sheet accounts
  • Monitoring and reporting on job performance
  • Administration of PAYE / CIS / VAT including returns.
  • Financial Accounting activity including Profit & Loss Account reconciliations and financial analysis
  • Preparation of monthly sales reports and customer profitability analysis
  • Responsible for the weekly / monthly payment process.
  • Development and recommend / implement process improvements
  • Budget administration
  • Development of company templates using advanced MS Excel formulae
  • Any other duties required to fulfil the requirements of the position.


The above list is not exhaustive and additional tasks maybe required as directed. 

To be considered for the role you will require:

  • To be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or equivalent) but part qualified may also be considered with extensive experience.
  • Relevant experience for a minimum of 2 years in the recent past.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills especially Excel at an Intermediate level.
  • Ability to work under pressure to deliver on a varied portfolio of work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Excellent organisational and structured approach to work with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexibly in a team environment.
