Summary of Role

A new role has emerged for an experienced Health & Safety Officer to join our growing teams. In this role, the successful candidate will support the Company in implementing Health & Safety Policies & Procedures and in meeting all legal obligations whilst ensuring the Health, Safety and well-being of our workforce.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Main Tasks:

  • Provide advice and guidance to managers, supervisors and employees
  • Policy setting and implementation
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety Legislation
  • Conduct H&S inspections and investigations
  • Reporting
  • Conduct Risk Assessments and follow up action planning
  • Auditing – internal and assistance during external
  • Adhere to all health and safety practices
  • Any other duties and reasonable tasks within your capability as set out by Management.

What we need from you                                                                                                                              

  • Degree in relevant discipline preferred
  • NEBOSH general certificate essential
  • 3-5 years previous experience in a similar role (or able to demonstrate adequate knowledge and ability to fulfil the role)
  • Experience in the food industry will be advantageous
  • Driving license and access to a vehicle or ability to fulfil any driving requirements of the role
  • Good oral and written communication skills (Sufficient level of written and spoken English to maintain levels of safety)
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and coherently with other team members
  • Flexibility with working times to ensure consistency of policy implementation and servicing of audits/investigations etc
