Project Developer role within our Solar Development Team who can use their experience to support the delivery of renewable energy projects.

The role will ideally be Belfast based, however candidates from other UK Areas will be considered. Working conditions will be a mixture of shared office working as well as home office working. Extensive travel is a key aspect of the job role, including monthly visits to our head office in Edinburgh as well as sites visits across the UK and Ireland as required. The job role is to progress current development opportunities, as well as develop new opportunities, within Wales, England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland. An immediate focus is on finding new opportunities within England and Wales.

Responsibilities

Identify and pursue new business opportunities with a focus on ground mounted solar farms

Identify and pursue new site finding partners; e.g land agents and consultants,

Undertaking technical, environmental and commercial feasibility assessments for new sites,

Project management of planning application submission process and all associated works, including for technical design and stakeholder engagement,

Project management of all aspects of assigned projects, ensuring project schedule, budget and commercial viability is in line with company expectations,

Undertaking due diligence of project purchase opportunities,

Managing the submission of grid connection applications,

Investigating and reporting on the UK wide grid connection potential status within each DNO region as well as any developments in grid connection policy,

Travel when required to advance assigned projects and find new development opportunities. Expectation is to travel 3 days each week, 3 weeks out of the month. You will be responsible for your diary and determining when to travel to progress your responsibilities as long as this is in line with the company’s expectations,

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

Requirements

Candidate must have at least 3yrs Project Management experience within the Renewables Sector and be expected to:

Attendance at industry events and conferences,

You will be working with the Principal Developer to achieve the companies’ yearly set targets for solar development,

You will be assigned and responsible for progressing projects and will work with the Principal Developer to assist with reporting on project progress to the UK managing Director and Steering Committee,

Project management of construction and operational processes,

Investigate and report on all solar and associated renewable energy market developments, including policy and technology developments,

Have a self-motivated attitude to progress development opportunities from conception to operation with a real desire to progress multiple job tasks and roles at once,

Have a real desire and drive and initiative to find the right solutions to complex development problems in a transforming renewables industry,

The ability to work as part of a small team as well as individually

Undertaking and directing other team members on the use of GIS and AutoCAD

Managing the procurement of subcontractors, environmental and technical consultants,

DESIRED CRITERIA

Degree in any Renewable Technology
