The post holder will provide a daily support service to ensure the smooth and efficient running of Queen’s Accommodation within designated area of work. The post holder will be required to work 37 hours per week Wednesday to Sunday.

Main duties to include:

  • Cleaning duties
  • Janitorial duties
  • Providing a portering service for relocation
  • Ensuring buildings are secure
  • Carrying our scheduled tasks in relation to Health and Safety
  • Assisting in compiling and maintaining records for stocks, inventory lists of equipment and stores

Essential criteria

  1. Secondary school education.
  2. Minimum of 6 months’ relevant portering and janitorial and cleaning experience in a customer-facing environment.
  3. Evidence of good numeracy and literacy skills.
  4. Awareness of general health and safety requirements.
  5. Knowledge of storage and use of cleaning chemicals.
  6. Able to communicate clearly and courteously with all students, visitors and staff.
  7. Good interpersonal skills.
  8. Ability to work as part of a team.
  9. Understand the importance of confidentiality.
  10. Must have valid UK driving licence.

Salary scale: £16,146 – £17,079 per annum (potential to progress to £17,751 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution)
