JOB TITLE:CNC Operator                                               

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Mechanical Engineering Manager

Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, the CNC Operator will produce machined parts by programming, setting up and operating CNC machines including CNC Lathe and CNC routers. This position will also be required to operate manual lathes, drills, mills and saws, and construct light assemblies.  Based in our offices in Carrickfergus, the CNC Operator will be part of the mechanical engineering team.


  • Program and set-up mills and lathes, load feed mechanisms and verify settings while maintaining specifications and quality
  • The use of manual tools including lathe and vertical mill
  • Mechanical assembly of Yelo products
  • Maintain build quality and report any issues to immediate supervisor
  • Use bench fitting techniques as required
  • Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements
  • Ensure conformance with ISO9001 procedures
  • Carry out any other task that may be required from time to time

Essential Requirements:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience in programming setting/operating CNC lathes and mills
  • Experience in the use of workshop machines and tools including lathe and vertical mill
  • Experience in working from mechanical drawlings 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Prior forklift experience
  • Understanding of basic repairs and maintenance of machine ship equipment


  • Have good manual dexterity
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast paced environment
  • Be self-motivated, be able to manage time and set priorities
  • Good communications skills
  • Team player
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements


£22,000 – £24,000 per annum, depending on experience
