The role of Business Manager is to grow and develop relationships with existing Customers, maximising opportunities for new and increased lending, ensuring Customer retention.

Purpose of the role:

The purpose of the role is to support the Senior Business Manager in becoming the Number 1 Business Bank in the local market place.

Key Accountabilities:

Business Results

  • Assist the SBM to meet all targets as agreed for the business banking team to include interalia:

Credit and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with the full risk agenda including Conduct Risk for the business banking portfolio (“the Portfolio”).

Leadership and Teamwork

  • Accept accountability and responsibility for the overall performance of the Portfolio and work with wider Team to achieve agreed Business Banking targets.

What is the opportunity

The Business Manager will need to have a highly proactive and partnership approach with both internal and external customers in order to protect and maximise existing revenue and maximise potential new business. A key aspect of the role is to grow and develop relationships with existing Customers, maximising opportunities for new and increased lending, ensuring Customer retention.

Essential Qualification:

Professional / Education

  • Ideally third level qualification.
  • And / or working towards Chartered Banker / Postgraduate.

Essential skills & experience:

  • Proven experience of Business Banking with ability to manage Business Banking relationships with proven track record in credit assessment and management.
  • Ability to identify new opportunities.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Experience in credit management, regulatory and operational risk and proven track record in maintaining high standards.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively.
