The Role:

We’re looking for an Associate to join us in our Belfast office as a member of our team. In this role you will work alongside a team of like-minded high, performing individuals, working on engagements for large Global clients, within Financial Regulations, Corporate Restructuring, Commercial or Financial Services Contract Negotiation and other contract related work. You will be provided with training in the drafting, negotiation and management of industry-specific contracts. You will then utilise and enhance these skills on a variety of client engagements whilst gaining exposure to Axiom’s tech-enabled environment. Responsibilities:

  • Drafting and negotiation of a range of industry standard documents
  • Skilled analysis and resolution of points arising in the course of negotiations
  • Operate professionally and proactively, under pressure, to progress a portfolio of live negotiations
  • Build productive relationships with key stakeholders and clients
  • Follow standard operating procedures for appropriate compliance with approvals process and controls requirements more generally

In addition to the above, here are the required skills, knowledge, capabilities, and education for this role:

Essential Criteria:

  • LLB Degree and/or Legally qualified
  • Minimum of 6 months’ experience within a law firm, as part of an in-house legal team or within Axiom
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt quickly to changes
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to handle competing priorities
  • Experience of working in a commercial Legal environment or other Professional Services organisations
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite – especially Microsoft Word Outlook, and Excel
  • Legally eligible to work in the United Kingdom

Desirable Criteria:

  • Client-facing experience
  • Commercial contracts experience
  • Previous exposure to recognised case management systems

 

Additional Information

As a member of an ISO Compliant center, the candidate will be required to follow the policies and procedures on Information Security Management System in place at the Centre of Excellence and globally at AMS. As a member of the AMS team, the applicant will have access to various company and client assets and will be required to maintain the level of security as identified for each asset.
