Excellent opportunity for Workshop Controller based in Portadown.


Prentice Portadown are seeking a Workshop Controller who understands the demands of busy workshops with the ability to deliver consistent high standards.

As Workshop Controller you  will liaise daily with BMW and MINI Service Managers to schedule all incoming work as well as manage the time and resource of two Technician teams across two workshops.

You will be a people person with demonstrable experience in driving change and delivering results to ensure maximum efficiency and performance is achieved.  You will work with Technicians in relation to monthly performance and support to ensure that individual and team objectives are met.  You will be a team player who thrives on helping and developing others.

You will be responsible for quality checking, technician training and development as well as complying with all health and safety regulations.

The successful candidate must have strong technical knowledge, a customer focus and be computer literate with the ability to work efficiently under pressure to ensure a 5 star customer experience is delivered.

The successful candidate must have the following criteria:

  • Knowledge of how to run a productive workshop.
  • Experience of managing a team of Vehicle Technicians would be desirable but not essential.
  • Be able to demonstrate leadership and a “solution finding” outlook.
  • Have the ability to prioritise / organise work to ensure the workshop runs smoothly including planning of work for shift patterns
  • Have excellent communication skills to liaise with internal and external customers.
  • Team player

This is a full time, permanent position, 42.5 hours per week

Monday to Friday – 7.00am – 4.00pm
