Excellent opportunity for a Vice Principal based in Derry/Londonderry

The Board of Governors invites applications for the post of:


Commencing 1st September 2019

The Board of Governors seeks to appoint a dedicated, dynamic and child-centred

Vice-Principal who will be inspirational in motivating, supporting and developing students and staff in an atmosphere where everyone is valued. The successful candidate should possess the knowledge, understanding, experience and skills required to promote the pastoral care, high academic standards and Catholic ethos of the College.

At shortlisting, preference will be given to candidates who, at commencement of appointment, are able to demonstrate the following minimum requirements in their application for the post:

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Are a qualified teacher as recognised by DE and registered with GTCNI
  • Are employed in the post-primary sector or related educational area for at least 9 years in the last 12 (since 1st September 2007)
  • Hold or have held in the past 5 years a minimum of 3 responsibility/Teaching Allowances
  • Have direct and relevant leadership and managerial experience of strategic planning, team leadership or pastoral care at a whole school level.


  • Have successfully completed the Professional Qualification for Headship (NI)
  • Are a serving Vice-Principal
  • Holds a Masters Degree in Educational Management (or equivalent)
  • Holds a University Degree which incorporates a subject likely to enhance the school’s curriculum.
