 Job Description

We have a great opportunity for a Workshop Controller to join us.

You will be responsible for helping the Vehicle Maintenance Unit (VMU) Manager safely maintain the Allied Bakeries Ireland vehicle fleet in compliance with all legislation and company standards. This a day shift role working Monday to Friday 8.30 to 5pm. This role would ideally suit someone already working as a Workshop Controller, a Master or a Senior Technician who wants to move into a Leadership role.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure Health & Safety procedures are observed and maintained at all times by you and the team

  • Ensure service and repairs are carried out to the highest quality standards possible

  • Ensure efficient use of materials, equipment and labour resources

  • Actively coach and support the team to develop individual competencies

  • Ensure efficient progression of work through the workshop

    The successful candidate will have:

  • City & Guilds Level 2 Advanced Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (Groups A2 & B2 preferable but not mandatory).

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience of working as a vehicle technician within a commercial vehicles -environment.

  • Ability to work conscientiously whether alone or within a team.

    Desirable Criteria

  • 2 years experience of supervising within a commercial vehicles maintenance environment.

  • City & Guilds Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (Groups A2 & B2 preferable but not mandatory).

  • C+E license holder.

  • Health & Safety Competence Training (e.g. NEBOSH)
