Senior Technical Engineer
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Technical Engineer to support the Technical Manager and Operations Manager in implementing plans and achieving objectives in the Technical and R&D departments. The successful candidate will become knowledgeable in all existing products and processes and will also have the ability to develop new products and processes to meet customer requirements. They will work closely with the Technical Manager, Operations Manager and a team of experienced engineers.
The ideal candidate should have a degree/higher degree in a chemical or mechanical engineering discipline or at least 3yrs experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment. Managing a variety of projects, a background in chemistry or polymer science and polymer processing would be an advantage. The successful candidate will be proactive in developing initiatives in pursuit of innovation, continuous improvement and effective problem solving, which will include sourcing and approving new raw materials. Experience in designing, carrying out and analysing product trials and testing is also essential. The role will involve project management activities and teamwork, including providing an effective and efficient support service to the manufacturing facility in relation to specification, installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment and assisting in the investigation of customer complaints when required. The ability to liaise professionally with internal and external customers is a requirement of the role, as is the ability to compile results and reports for customers and senior management.
Hours of work will be 8.30am – 5.15pm Monday – Thursday and 8.30am – 1pm Friday. Salary will be at a scale subject to experience and qualifications.
