Our research is funded by the NIHR, UKRI the World Health Organization, Horizon 2020 as well as leading international charities such as Marie Curie.  Our research involves clinical partners and community stakeholders in co-designed studies to ensure our research impacts positively in healthcare and society and is widely cited in international clinical care guidelines relating to chronic illness and child health.  We strive to create a vibrant and welcoming research culture that is relevant to improving health and well-being. 

The Research Fellow will be an active member of the learning disability research team assisting in the development of best practice guidelines focusing on the Regional HSC Hospital Passport so that the overall research objectives of the project are met.

Job duties

This post is full time for until 31 March 2020.   

The successful Research Fellow will have:

  • Have or be about to obtain a relevant PhD.
  • At least 3 years’ relevant research experience with people with learning disabilities using a range of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
  • Extensive recent, direct experience working with people with learning disabilities
  • Direct experience of interviewing people with learning disabilities.
