Terex are now expanding and recruiting for a Production Area Manager to join our dynamic team here in Ballymoney. This is an excellent opportunity for an experience production manager who is interested in becoming part of a global engineering organisation.

Reporting to the Plant Manager this position will be responsible for leading a team of production supervisors and team leaders, interpreting high level requirements and transferring these to daily objectives. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure full Health, Safety and Environmental compliance throughout the company.
  • Institutionalise and lead best business practices through lean manufacturing thinking and The Terex Way.
  • Be responsible for maintaining and improving the existing lean manufacturing production process
  • Implement and coach Terex Business System initiatives and tools in all areas
  • Demonstrate good leadership skills to manage the Production Supervisors and Team Members in process adherence.
  • Performance Management of all Team Members in your area of responsibility.
  • Control and manage day to day production flow to deliver on time through level pull.
  • Control production costs and spend to within budget and assist in setting departmental budgets.
  • Manage the delivery of customer ready quality to both internal and external customers with zero defects.
  • Manage and control SWIP in all areas
  • Manage and control inventory through constant cycle checking and reporting
  • Ensure the maintenance of engineering items, equipment and machinery using TPM
  • Results focused with the energy, drive and commitment to make it happen.
  • Ensure compliance to all general site Rules, Regulations, and Policies.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility to accept and fulfil any other reasonable duties that may be required from time to time

Experience Essential

  • Minimum of 2 years previous production leadership experience gained within a high volume manufacturing environment (preferably mobile screening manufacture).
  • Experience and proven track record of Supervisory and /or people management is essential.
  • A practical understanding of lean manufacturing with ability to coach and practice Flow, Level Pull, TAKT adherence, JIT, Problem Solving, Continuous Improvement techniques, Visual Management and Synchronous Material Flow systems (PFEP, Kanban).
  • Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and change management.
