Job Summary

As Mechanical Design Engineer for Sandvik Mobile Crushers & Screens you will be involved in the development and continual improvement of Sandvik’s mobile crushing and screening equipment. The role will involve reviewing designs and updating products to meet and exceed the customers’ expectations. The successful candidate will be involved in supporting the Assembly Centre by processing and closing out “Requests for Action” for new product introduction and current products, ensuring a close link with Production/Manufacturing Engineers. You will be required to create and maintain technical design documentation such as engineering drawings, engineering change notices, service manuals and of material through the process of designing, prototyping and reviewing mechanical components. The role will also involve taking ownership of design improvement projects as directed.

The role will involve traveling to Sandvik sites worldwide, occasional exhibitions, trade shows and attend test sites when necessary.


Essential Criteria

  • You will have a relevant degree in engineering or extensive experience in mechanical engineering.

  • You will need previous experience working within a team to deliver projects within agreed quality, cost and timeframe targets.

  • Have extensive experience in the use of 3D modelling design software.

  • You will have knowledge of heavy manufacturing, production processes and PDM systems.

  • You will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.

  • Have strong analytical, problem solving and time management skills.

  • You will need excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • You will be required to have a permit to work in the UK.


Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience designing mobile equipment.

  • Good knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.

  • Knowledge of KAIZEN/AGILE working techniques.
