Division Description

The Finance & Accounting Division is made up of a number of core finance teams both at business unit and Group level. We perform a key management and control function in ensuring all Group financial and management reporting processes are appropriately governed. The Finance Division has overall responsibility for driving the Group budgeting and forecasting process, developing Group-focused financial insight and analysis and delivering the Group’s statutory, regulatory and external reporting. We do this through collaborative business partnering in each of the Divisions and with centralised Finance shared / specialist services.

Description of business unit

UK Treasury is a core function with BOI UK, responsible for Liquidity Management, Funding Strategy, Collateral Management, Cash and Market Risk management of the Firm’s Balance sheet.

Purpose of the Role

This is a key role for UK Treasury, with internal and external stakeholder engagement at BOI UK and Group senior management and Executive level and with external stakeholders including Rating Agencies, Bank of England and the PRA.

The role holder could be based in either London or Belfast

Key Accountabilities

The role holder is responsible for the following areas:

  • Support the management of liquidity risk with the BOI UK reporting to the Head of Liquidity Risk Management.
  • Responsible for delivering the annual update of the Firms ILAAP, with direct responsibility for the technical aspects therein, including amongst other things quantification of the Firm’s liquid asset buffer requirement.
  • SME expert on all liquidity regulatory related developments.
  • Responsible for the ongoing development of the cost of liquidity component of the Firm’s FTP Methodology.
  • Responsible for the communication (both verbal and written) of technical liquidity and liquidity FTP related to matters LFMF and ALCo as required.

Essential Qualifications

Suitable candidates should hold a degree in a relevant discipline and ideally have a minimum of 5 years+ experience in a Treasury environment

Essential Skills & Experience

A strong track record in a senior liquidity role within a comparable retail/commercial bank with hands on experience of PRA ILAAP and L-SRERP processes

Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Hands on experience and knowledge of Funds Transfer Pricing processes
  • Strategic thinker, capable of maximising the team’s efficiency and effectiveness e.g. by optimising the Firm’s liquid asset requirement and cost of same.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with an ability to manage internal stakeholders including Executive, Board and PRA stakeholders.
  • Able to manage broader policy issues as well as take a hands-on approach
