In partnership with the Northern Regional College (NRC), we are offering a joinery apprenticeship which will combine on-the-job learning with study and put the apprentice on the path to gaining a recognised qualification whilst gaining valuable experience in a busy joinery workshop.

The successful candidate will complete in-house training to become a Mould Maker as part of our joinery team in the manufacturing of timber moulds for our civil engineering projects. The purpose of the role is to operate as part of a team in accordance with Company standards and targets, adhering to the daily production plan e.g. manufacturing timber moulds, carrying out tasks effectively and meeting Health and Safety and Quality standards.

Hours of Work: Hours will be variable between 32-48 hours per week as needed, in line with attendance at college. Standard hours will be 8am-5pm Monday to Friday.  Overtime may be required.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Health & Safety awareness: Understanding of H&S rules and procedures, and experience of adhering to these. A Health and Safety qualification would be beneficial but not essential, for example, a CSR card.
  • Capable of working in a busy manufacturing environment: Working to achieve set targets and carrying out tasks efficiently. Ability to use initiative and to problem solve.
  • Drive for results: Can demonstrate a positive approach for the team achieving the daily/weekly results for health & safety, quality, production etc.
  • Communication Skills: Clear communication skills as part of a team, discussing and reporting matters to Line Manager as necessary.
  • The successful candidates must be enthusiastic and punctual, able to work to deadlines and willing to learn new skills as well as being a practical hands-on person.

The successful candidate must meet the minimum entry requirements for the course as outlined by the NRC, including GCSE entry criteria.
