The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the University’s Building Management System (BMS) by co-ordinating and providing an effective and efficient monitoring management program.  This will reduce and meet carbon management targets, improve environment and delivery of service to customers, manage critical alarms, investigate out of condition faults and provide guidance to ensure that the BMS strategy is adhered to.

The successful candidate will have:

  • At least an ONC in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering , or equivalent with typically a minimum of 4 years recent relevant experience managing contractors, minor projects and a working knowledge and operation of BMS networks and Building Services Systems.  Alternatively a higher relevant qualification (e.g. a degree) with 2 years relevant experience (as above).
  • Applicants without the relevant qualification(s) but demonstrates broad relevant experience (as above) will also be considered.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ recent relevant experience managing contractors, minor projects and a working knowledge of TREND and BMS networks
  • For candidates with an HNC or higher qualification, a minimum of 2 years’ recent relevant experience as outlined above
  • Up to date knowledge of the relevant regulations and codes of practice
  • Computer literate, appropriate literacy/numeracy skills to prepare reports related to BMS systems/energy
  • Good technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services systems
  • Willingness to work outside normal working hours as required
  • Prepared to carry mobile phone
  • Valid driving licence

Salary scale: £27,831 – £32,236 per annum (potential to progress to £35,210 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution)
