Seagate’s facility in Springtown is among the most advanced in the world in the design, development and volume manufacturing of recording heads, which write information onto and read information from the recording disc within the data storage device.

Electrical and Electronic Engineer – Entry Level (Ref: EEE/190656)

We have an exciting opportunity within the Facilities Engineering Department for a high calibre Electrical and Electronic Engineer, working on electrical instrumentation & controls in a high-tech manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will join a leading edge employer in a department which is critical to the production of magnetic read-write heads, used in data storage devices.

The Facilities Operations Department are responsible for a broad range of buildings, engineering plant, systems and services which ensure the continued operation of our manufacturing facility.  As an Engineer, you will use your knowledge of engineering principles, problem solving abilities and analytical skills to contribute and develop engineering solutions in order to:

  • Resolve systems & plant issues,
  • Improve life cycle operation of plant
  • Reduce occurrences of breakdowns
  • Optimise performance and energy efficiency through control strategies
  • Ensure accuracy of drawings and documentation associated with plant & systems.
  • Ensure conformance with regulatory and health & safety operating procedures

Applicants must possess at least a 2.2 honours degree or equivalent in Electrical & Electronic Engineering. Experience is not essential though applicants with post graduate experience should apply. Please note that applicants must have eligibility to take up permanent employment in the UK without the requirement to be sponsored by Seagate.
