A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join an industry leader in UK’s Building Services providers. We design, develop and deliver a wide range of offsite-prefabricated, innovative and sustainable building service solutions throughout the UK & Ireland.

Alternative Heat specialises in the design, supply and installation of a wide range of Pre-Fabricated energy solutions, typically built in NI and shipped throughout the UK & Ireland. We also offer turnkey design, build & operate solutions for commercial energy centers and large-scale district heating solutions and have experience with successfully procuring and delivering many similar packages to a wide range of public body’s throughout Ireland & UK.

We are currently looking to fill the role of Commercial Bid Writer. The successful candidate will work closely with our design & estimating & commercial teams to help win new contracts and strengthen future growth with a progressive and dynamic company.

Job Summary:

The candidate will play a key role in identifying, preparing and submitting bids for a wide range of commercial prefabricated MEP, Energy Centres & District heating solutions. 


Candidates applying need to be experienced in leading storyboarding sessions, participating in key review meetings/ final document review, content sign off and document production.


Experience of coordinating and updating a knowledge base system is beneficial.


Responsibilities of role:
  • Scouring public procurement sites and downloading suitable tender opportunities
  • Lead storyboard sessions with bid / proposal team members and key stakeholders
  • Assist the Bid team in developing a proposal structure
  • Identify and re-work existing pre-written content where relevant
  • Re-write / edit proposal responses from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from contracts, design, marketing & commercial teams.
  • Preparing & submitting PQQs
  • Preparing and submitting tender returns via procurement portals
  • Streamlining and formatting procurement data
  • Liaising with technical and cad departments to ensure data is prepared and uploaded in line with tender requirements
  • Working with public contract procurement portals

 Essential Criteria:

  • Computer literate with attention to detail and presentation

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Word

  • Strong written English language skills

  • Organised and structured approach to work with an ability to manage workloads

  • Commercial awareness

  • Ability to Communicate and influence at a senior level


Desired Criteria:

  • Previous experience in preparing and submitting tender bids within the construction sector.
