Excellent opportunity for a CADA NI Development Officer based in Belfast.

Post Title:  CADA NI Development Officer (Part-time – 17.5 hrs. per week – flexibility required)

Employer: The CADA NI Development Officer post is hosted by Concern Worldwide (UK) and employed under a Concern (UK) employment contract and terms and conditions.

Reports to: CADA NI Chairperson

Direct reports: None.

While the post holder has no staff direct reports, they would have supervisory responsibility for any CADA NI volunteers, as required.

Liaises with:

  • CADA NI Management Committee
  • CADA NI Public Engagement Group
  • CADA NI Member Agencies

Based At: Concern Worldwide (UK), 47 Frederick Street, Belfast, BT1 2LW

Start date: As soon as possible, following appointment.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To support the Coalition of Aid and Development Agencies (CADA) to effectively maintain and develop its work and impact on behalf of the international development sector in Northern Ireland. The post holder will support the CADA Management Committee and Sub-Groups in developing the One World Festival, other CADA public events, increasing CADA membership, coordinating CADA training and networking events, and providing administrative and communications support.

KEY DUTIES:

EVENT MANAGEMENT

One World Festival

Work with the CADA Management Committee and Sub-Groups to plan, coordinate and develop the One World CADA festival, including:

  • Research and submit funding applications, as appropriate
  • Manage the development of the One World Festival web site, including ticketing systems, as appropriate
  • Deliver all pre-event planning and launch events
  • Maximise participation of CADA members delivering festival events
  • Recruit third party organisations to participate in the festival
  • Plan and coordinate the delivery of the festival programme
  • Promote and advertise the festival through online and offline media
  • Grow the engagement of key stakeholders and increase public engagement in the festival over the initial three year period

CADA Events

Support the CADA Management Committee in planning and delivering events including:

  • Public engagement events, such as partnership events with local festivals
  • Training and development workshops
  • AGM and other events, as agreed

DEVELOPMENT, COMMUNICATION and MANAGEMENT SUPPORT

Support the CADA Management Committee and Sub-Groups to:

  • Maintain CADA membership records and promote CADA membership to appropriate international development organisations
  • Research and submit funding applications, as appropriate, to support the development of CADA’s work
  • Maintain, develop and update CADA’s website(s) and social media
  • Monitor and respond appropriately to CADA communications and draft regular updates to CADA members
  • Any other duties as required to support the development of CADA NI.
