 Job Description

To provide quality teaching and learning opportunities within the specific areas outlined in the post in order to maximise the potential of every student and to undertake non-lecturing duties as appropriate

Duties will include:


The responsibilities attached to this post can necessarily change over time. Presently the successful candidate will be required to undertake the following duties:


  1. Contribute to the development, organisation and delivery of the Counselling curriculum across the College, with potential teaching within Health & Social Care and related programmes of study.


  2. Attend meetings on matters relating to students, course co-ordination, management, assessment and development.


  3. Participate in the marketing of and recruitment to courses within the subject/programme area, including the interviewing of students, attendance at parents evenings, prize-giving, open days, awards ceremonies and other similar departmental/college events.


  4. Act as a course director.


  5. Undertake assessment and moderation duties, internally and externally, in line with awarding body requirements.


  6. Act as a personal tutor to students as required.


  7. Participate in the student induction, monitoring and reviewing processes.


  8. Contribute to the process of the requisitioning of equipment and consumables for the subject/programme area.


  9. Establish links and on-going liaison with external partners.


  10. Contribute to the review and evaluation of the curriculum provision.


  11. Adhere to the “value-for-money” principle through efficient planning, organisation and delivery of said programmes.


  12. Complete all administrative tasks associated with this post.
