About the role… 

We are keen to recruit Apprentice Motor Vehicle Technicians for our busy workshops across Agnew Group.

  • This exciting Apprenticeship opportunity is available in our premium brands including Audi, Mercedes Benz, BMW and Volkswagen.
  • We have opportunities in Belfast, Mallusk and Portadown.
  • Hours of work are Monday to Friday 08.30 to 17.00.
  • The program is run in partnership with Transport Training Services based at Nutts Corner.

As an Apprentice Motor Vehicle Technician you will be involved in all aspects of maintenance and repair, from routine servicing to the complete component overhaul of vehicle systems.

Over three years, our Apprentice vehicle technicians learn through on-the-job training in our own workshops and classroom training at TTS.

Main duties for this role may include the following;

  • Bumper to bumper overview, service and inspection
  • Use of diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle faults
  • Testing of parts and systems to ensure correct working
  • Following checklists to ensure all critical parts of vehicles are examined
  • Maintenance of electronic systems including on board entertainment systems
  • Undertaking repair and maintenance of vehicle parts including clutches, gearboxes, tyres, brakes and suspension
  • Completion of legible and accurate paperwork
  • Maintenance of a clean and tidy work environment

About you… 

  • You should have a keen interest in vehicle engineering
  • You will be a team player who works well under pressure
  • You will have the ability to work within given timescales
  • Be aged under 25 and eligible for the ApprenticeshipsNI Program. You can check your eligibility at www.nidirect.gov.uk/articles/apprenticeships-explained
  • Motor Vehicle experience is not essential however retail; customer service or administration skills would certainly be advantageous.
  • It would be desirable to hold a full and valid UK driving licence.
