ICC Belfast are seeking to recruit an Account Executive to join the ICC Belfast Sales Team. As part of the ICC Belfast sales and marketing team, the Account Executive will ensure that the customers’ expectation and experience of BWUH is exceeded.

REPORTS TO:                                Account Management Team

SALARY:                                        £20,808 – £27,050 plus NILGOSC defined benefit career average pension, bonus and excellent benefits. Please note, it is anticipated the successful candidate will start at the bottom of the salary scale.

BAND:                                          3

DURATION:                                  Permanent Post

BONUS:                                         Bonus structure based on meeting agreed KPIs

HOLIDAYS:                                   22 days per annum plus statutory holidays.

HOURS OF WORK:                        Hours of work are on average 37 per week.

BWUH Ltd. is the private limited company that was created in 2016 to commercialise the operations of both the entertainment and conferencing offering of the venues.

 

This fantastic career development opportunity offers a clear career path, subject to meeting specific and achievable targets, which will see the Account Executive progress to the position of Account Manager within 18 months. The Account Executive will work alongside an experienced Account Manager who will mentor and guide them.  They will be also will be provided with training to assist them progressing to the next level.

 

Main Purpose of Job:

As part of the ICC Belfast sales & marketing team, you are to ensure that the customers’ expectation and experience of BWUH is exceeded through the right balance between value for money and the provision of excellent customer service.

To be responsible to the Account Management team on all matters pertaining to sales activities, particularly for association markets and assisting the corporate sales targets as required in accordance with the BWUH strategy and Business Plan.

In conjunction with the wider sales team, to actively seek and develop opportunities for the selling of all facilities and additionals including AV, catering etc.

To ensure the achievement of individual sales targets.

To be able to work flexibly across the two venues of BWUH; ICC Belfast and Ulster Hall to ensure high standards of service delivery are achieved.

Ability to travel and represent the organisation at sales initiatives regionally, nationally and internationally.

 

Summary of responsibilities & personal duties:

  • To research and identify potential conference leads that can be nurtured by the ICC Belfast conference sales team.
  • To develop and maintain strong business relationships with clients to ensure continuing association with ICC Belfast.
  • To generate primary revenue for ICC Belfast in relation to all manner of sales, particularly the association market, and maintain customer relationships to ensure repeat business.
  • To assist in the maintenance and growth of an integrated database of customers, bookings, sales and marketing information.
  • Participate in sales activities including trade shows, corporate events, networking, outbound sales calls etc as directed by management to ensure sales growth
  • To prepare data on the sales pipeline to assist the Account Managers in reporting.
  • To ensure quality systems are maintained for correspondence and documentation, so that customers receive consistent professional service at all times
  • To act in accordance with the BWUH policies and procedures including customer care, equal opportunities, health and safety and any pertinent legislation.
  • To fully understand and use the CRM system ensuing sales activities are recorded and contact details are up-to-date.
  • To have in-depth working knowledge of BWUHs venues, and of the competition locally, nationally and internationally, and to keep up to date with developments within the conference and meetings industry.
  • To participate in all appropriate and relevant induction and in-service training.
  • To work with other key partners to ensure success bids/wins for the venue and the city, particularly Visit Belfast.
  • To undertake the duties in such a way as to enhance and protect the reputation and public profile of BWUH.
  • To undertake other such relevant duties as may from time to time be required.

 

Shortlisting Criteria:

Qualifications

  • A third level qualification in Sales, Marketing or Business Studies

 

Essential Experience:  

  • Demonstrable experience of working on multiple projects at one time

  • Experience of working towards ambitious sales targets 

 

Desirable Experience:

  • Sales experience in one or more of the following areas: conferences, exhibitions or business meetings.
  • Experience in the co-ordination of events, particularly business events within a conference and exhibition environment

 

Applicants must have strong administrative and organisational skills and show great attention to detail. In addition, applicants must possess a positive and enthusiastic attitude, strong work ethic and be willing to work in a fast-paced environment. 

As travel is an essential aspect of this role, applicants must currently hold the right to travel without restriction as well as a full, current UK driver’s license and a car available for business use.

Information technology skills: Proficient in the full suite of Microsoft office programmes including Excel, PowerPoint and Word, as well as the ability to use database packages.  

Work planning and decision-making skills: the ability to prioritise workload and make effective decisions to achieve objectives.

Team working skills: the ability to work as part of a cross-functional team to contribute to its overall success.

Customer care skills: an awareness of the importance of responding to the needs of internal and external stakeholders and the ability to be professional and appropriately handle sensitive information.
