Location: Belfast             

Responsible to: Services Director

Main purpose of the job: The Transition Manager will act as the primary interface between the customer and Novosco for all Service Transition activities. You will work closely with Novosco Technical Presales, Project and Operational teams through the project life cycle from requirements gathering through implementation, service go live and early life support, providing guidance, direction and ensuring transitional requirements are understood and met.  You will engage between Novosco teams and the Customer to ensure transitional service impacts are identified, communicated on and supported to ensure seamless transition from project delivery into operational support.

Main Duties and Responsibilities: Essential duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Define operational service requirements as part of project scoping.
  • Produce operational service transition plans for onboarding of new customers, new services, significant service changes or decommissioning of services.
  • Co-ordinate design, documentation and training of operational service procedures.
  • Co-ordinate implementation of ITSM to meet operational service delivery and reporting requirements.
  • Define and co-ordinate early life support engagement.
  • Highlight expected impacts on service and communicate these clearly to the customer to set appropriate expectation.
  • Lead service readiness workshops with Technical Service Management, Service Delivery Management and customers.
  • Monitor health of new or changed service for duration of early life support period. 
  • Regular communication to Technical Service Management and Service Delivery Management to ensure awareness and visibility of in flight and upcoming transition projects.
  • Lead post transitional assessment, highlighting areas requiring CSIP review

Experience and skills:

Experience (essential):

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • ITIL Qualified
  • Experience of managing ITIL processes across service towers and third parties (SIAM)
  • Experience at senior management level in a large, complex customer facing organisation
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing IT strategies to achieve transformational levels of change and efficiency

Experience (desirable):

  • Advanced academic background, preferably to good degree level or equivalent
  • Proven commercial acumen
  • Good working knowledge of relevant functional systems
  • Experience in dealing with and influencing multi-tier management

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Articulate and a clear communicator
  • Be a customer advocate
  • Have the ability to converse technical terms and definitions to non technical personnel
  • Meticulous with excellent attention to detail
  • Able to multitask and handle large amounts of complex information

Training:

Internal training on products and services will be provided. However, staff are expected to consistently keep abreast of new developments, which would impact on their areas of responsibility. Personal training in relation to this job description will be given as part of the company’s overall personnel development program.

Conditions of Employment; Salary: The salary and benefits for this position will be determined according to the experience of the person appointed. General Guidance: The nominal working week is 37.5 hours, although a degree of flexibility is both offered and expected. In specific circumstances there may be a requirement to work additional hours.
