POST REF: 01930/19

POST TITLE: Project Based Learning Mentor/ Coordinator

LOCATION: Strand Road Campus

SALARY: £22,609 – £32,778 per annum (plus £2,612 Threshold and £1,358 Deane payment if applicable) per annum.

This post will attract one responsibility allowance in addition to the annual salary.  One responsibility allowance is valued at £1,629 (effective 1 September 2014).  

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Applicants must have:

Essential

1a a University Degree in the relevant* area or equivalent qualification;

or

1b a Level 5 qualification in the relevant* area and 3 years relevant* teaching experience;

and

2 GCSE English (Grade A*-C) or Essential Skills Level 2 (or higher) in Communication and

GCSE Maths (Grade A*-C) or Essential Skills Level 2 (or higher) in Numeracy, or NICATS Access Maths Modules, or any qualifications which are deemed to be equivalent;

and

3 recent experience (within the last 2 years) of embedding Project Based Learning into Level 2 or Level 3 programmes within FE, providing assessment outcomes across a number of units within each individual project.

Desirable:

4 a Post Graduate Certificate in Education or equivalent qualification recognised for teaching in the Northern Ireland FE Sector or be currently registered with the General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland (GTCNI).

* relevant defined as in an area of the Curriculum on offer at the North West

Regional College.
