Terms and Conditions

Hours-18 hours (with flexibility to cover unsocial hours)

Salary Range (FTE)-£15,968 – £18,457 annum pro rata

Holidays (FTE)-25 days (rising to 30) plus 10 public holidays (pro rata)

Employment Status-Fixed term 14 months

Probationary Period-6 months

Grade– Grade G

Notice Period (weeks)-4 weeks

Service / Department Description

MindWise has been offering specialist services to those with enduring mental health conditions for many years and we have been leaders in peer led initiatives. The “Peer Led Relapse Prevention and Recovery Focused Project” is a multi stranded approach with the aim of enabling people to live well despite the presence of symptoms of mental ill health.

This includes supporting people to take responsibility for managing their own health and wellbeing, working in partnership with clinicians, professionals and other service providers; helping people develop the knowledge, skills and motivation to engage in civic life, work, education; to engage in interests and activities that support their health and wellbeing; and to sustain positive social and family relationships.

Job Purpose

Working to support individuals presenting with a mental illness who may have been identified through Forensic Mental Health Services within the Northern Health and Social Care Trust (NHSCT) area. In this context the service will be directed towards  individuals with a mental disorder who have been subjected to involvement of the judicial system.  In addition, and working alongside the families and carers of those identified this will be done primarily through engagement with the Peer Led Relapse Prevention and Focussed Support Group model.

Key objectives for the post

To work in partnership with existing MindWise Services, Experts by Experience, the Statutory Trust & other voluntary organisations in the development  of 4 Forensic Mental Health Recovery Support Groups at four locations throughout the NHSCT area.

To develop with colleagues and volunteers 2 peer lead support groups focused on WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) 

To work towards enabling each group developed to become self sustaining.
