Key Responsibilities

Assigned to our WebApps and Reporting Squad, your responsibilities will include

  • Develop, implement and support software applications to respond to changing business needs
  • Work with internal clients to analyse existing codebases and systems in order to provide high quality advice, deliverables and support
  • Document software processes, requirements, design, testing scripts and post implementation material
  • Work across teams to coordinate troubleshooting and resolution of issues
  • Provide business as usual systems support for internal clients
  • Management of third party vendors against agreed work packages obligations and support cases
  • Manage incidents or defects in critical business systems
  • Co-ordinate vendor communications with the 3rd party vendors
  • Carry out any other duties that may reasonably be required from time to time

The job requires a considerable degree of commitment, flexibility and adaptability on the part of the jobholder to meet the demands of the job.

The post will be offered on a Personal Contract basis and will include an attractive benefits package, including a salary to reflect the skills and experience of the successful candidate.  The post will be based in our offices at Newforge Lane, Belfast.


Knowledge and Experience:


Strong experience in the following technologies:

  • C#.NET / VB.NET
  • Oracle / MySQL / MS SQL Server
  • Microsoft Office Suite (VBA)
  • Windows Server Operation Systems (Server 2008 and Server 2012)
  • Visual Studio (2008 and beyond)

Experience in developing front end web applications using various technologies

An understanding of the full software lifecycle and appreciation of different development methodologies

Strong Analytical Problem Solving abilities

Commitment to delivery of high quality solutions


Experience in the following technologies would be highly desirable:

  • Web Services
  • Entity Framework
  • Linq
  • Jenkins CI
  • Git
  • Selenium
  • Sonarcube
  • SSLCertificate experience
  • IIS / Tomcat / Apache
  • HTML / XML / CSS / XPath
  • Uniform Modelling Language experience

A general understanding of the electricity and gas industry
