Technical Manager – Grantham

Reporting to the General Manager, in this role you will be a key member of the senior site management team and take primary responsibility for driving forward best in class quality and technical performance. This is a challenging role where all your technical expertise and leadership skills will be called upon. You will have full responsibility for all technical aspects of the factory, ensuring its operation provides food safety, consistently meets Customer and legal requirements and works towards best practice. 

As a key member of the Grantham management team you will not only oversee the day to day running of the factory technical team, you will also develop the skills of your team, provide key input into the business strategy for the site and support business performance metrics, work closely with colleagues on both operational and business priorities and strengthen and develop key customer relationships. As such you will be an excellent communicator with proven interpersonal and negotiation skills. Experience working with the major multiples and understanding their standards and requirements are essential. Possessing strong team leadership qualities, you should also be able to demonstrate not only your ability to take the lead and make effective decisions, but also your ability to delegate and empower your team.

As such you will possess a third level qualification in a relevant subject area and be able to demonstrate a proven track record in leadership qualities minimum 3 years’ experience as well as a working knowledge across a range of areas including – BRC, HACCP, Food Legislation, and Food Hygiene standards. Leadership experience as part of strategy planning. A proven track record in Quality Management gained within the food industry is therefore essential with preference being given to those with experience working within chilled and RTE food environments. An advanced HACCP qualification would also be highly desirable.
