Terex are continuing to grow and are now recruiting for a Tax Accountant to join our finance team in our Global business services (GBS) site in Lurgan.

Position Overview

The GBS Business Tax Team provides VAT support to multiple Terex entities.  Working alongside the Business Tax Manager, the Tax Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the effective management of the VAT related balance sheet accounts.  Due to the large volumes of data, strong analytical skills are essential.


  • Management of the Indirect Tax Receivable Balances for all Terex companies supported by the Business Tax team.
  • Ensuring the completion of the month-end VAT account reconciliations and posting of associated journals.
  • Reconciliation of submitted VAT returns to the general ledger.
  • Management of year-end audit.
  • Ensure that VAT payments/refunds are made/received on a timely basis.
  • VAT compliance and audit support as required.
  • Responding to queries from government agencies and Terex entities regarding VAT.
  • Drive initiatives to improve current VAT processes and any other projects that may arise in the Indirect tax area.
  • Supporting the annual Senior Accounting Officer review.
  • Drive continuous improvement within the team by reviewing current compliance processes with a view to improve efficiency while maintaining data integrity.
  • Monitor business performance metrics in relation to VAT compliance.
  • Acting as a resource for queries from colleagues within the shared service center.

Minimum Required Qualifications 

  • Qualified Accountant.
  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly MS Excel.
  • Experience of working with large volumes of financial data.

  • UK & European VAT Experience.
