Retail Warehouse Assistant

 

Belfast based multi-channel retailer Argento was founded in 1997 and now has over 30 stores throughout the UK and Ireland. We stock the most amazing unique designer collections as well as the hottest brands on the high street.

 

Stock fulfilment and dispatch is crucial, and we expect high standards of work, ensuring the smooth running of the operations both in Head Office and in the retail stores.

 

Location – WAREHOUSE TEAM, HEAD OFFICE, BELFAST BT4

Contract Type – 40 hours per week, typically Monday – Friday, however during peak trading times, shifts will vary and will include day, evening and weekend shifts. We therefore require candidates who will be flexible to work 40 hours per week and also various shifts during meet peak trading times.

 

We are seeking energetic and enthusiastic individuals to carry out warehouse duties.
The successful candidates must be proactive with a problem-solving attitude and capable of working under minimum supervision. Good computer literacy is required to handle our despatch software. Training will be given.

Job Summary

Ensuring accurate distribution of stock in a timely manner, correctly labelled and in the correct quantities expected.

Reporting on and investigating errors; using software to reduce errors and ensuring processes are followed to reduce errors.  

 

Tasks include:

  • Efficiently and effectively receiving & storing goods inwards following Argento’s internal processes and procedures
  • Accurately pick orders ensuring a high level of quality and accuracy
  • Accurately pack deliveries ready for dispatch
  • Consistently achieve KPIs set for your department
  • To ensure the provision of the Health & Safety at Work Act is adhered to, and that any incidents/accidents or near misses are reported immediately
  • Recognise and understand product number and codes
  • To ensure quality and production standards are adhered and the highest possible standards of housekeeping and hygiene are maintained
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other departments
  • Ensure all tasks are prioritised and completed within expected timescales
  • Achieve a high-level knowledge of all our warehousing software systems and processes to ensure the ability to troubleshoot issues and work towards quick resolutions
  • Ensure all waste is disposed of safely and in line with company process, recycling wherever possible
  • This list of duties is not exhaustive and may include other duties from time to time to ensure the smooth running of the warehouse  

 

Physical Demands – the role involves the following physical demands on a daily basis:

 • Standing and/or walking for long periods of between 6 and 8 hours per shift

• Lifting, bending, reaching above the head when picking orders

• Manual dexterity of both hands and wrists when packing orders

• Regularly climbing and descending steps / stairs safely

 

Essential Criteria

  • 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Computer literate with experience of using Microsoft Office packages including excel and email
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team
  • Proven experience in a fast-moving retail or warehouse environment
  • Well presented with a positive, pro-active and professional approach
  • Flexibility both in duties within the warehouse and in hours of work to ensure that business needs are met (as may be required to work different shifts each week, or asked to work overtime)

Desired Criteria

  • Previous experience of using RMIS and MPX warehousing software packages
  • Previous experience in the jewellery industry
