McLaughlin & Harvey have a vacancy for a payroll / accounts administrator. The successful candidate will bring a positive and determined approach coupled with advanced ICT skills to their role, helping to ensure the smooth and efficient running of all finance office functions on a day to day basis. This is a new role that the successful candidate can make their own with the opportunity for career progression.

In addition to the main duties below, the successful Candidate will directly liaise and support the Senior Accounts Team and Construction Finance Director as part of a wholistic and effective approach to adding value and enhancing the finance department on a daily basis. Exceptional candidates who do not reach the below criteria may be considered.

Main Duties:

 

  • Assist with the importing and processing of payroll information via the payroll system ensuring payments are made in line with Company policy
  • Deal with payroll queries in a timely and efficient manner with recognition of the confidential nature of payrolls
  • Provide support with Sales ledger, Purchase ledger and Bank cover
  • Provide administrative support to the Accounts team to ensure all finance office functions are completed in a smooth and timely manner
  • To assist in provision of timely management accounts, budgets, statutory accounts and adherence to all statutory obligations of the above companies
  • To monitor systems and controls of the finance function
  • To complete other duties of a reasonable nature as directed by the senior accounts team

Essential Criteria:

 

  • Strong in Excel and advanced computer literacy.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail when processing information.
  • Strong work ethic
  • Team player
  • Ability to liaise with employees at all levels of the business

Desired Criteria:

  • Viable means of transport to get to and from work (08:00 start)
  • Previous experience in an accounts department or busy practice
  • Payroll experience
