To teach Applied Science at a range of levels.
1 To teach subjects as directed by the Head of Department to standards and quality defined by the College and, where applicable, the Awarding Body.
2 To follow schemes of work within the agreed subject areas, as defined by the Head of Department. The Post holder should devise their own scheme to be agreed with Head of Department.
3 Set course work for completion by candidates as required by the curriculum, to assess and provide feedback on that work in the manner prescribed by the Awarding Body.
4 Provide help and support to all candidates in a supportive manner, bearing in mind their individual needs and abilities, the requirements of the Awarding Body and the availability of time.
5 Provide for classes in a thorough and professional manner.
6 Complete and return all administrative records accurately and ensure they are kept up to date in accordance with the requirements of the College, the Department of the Economy and Awarding Bodies.
7 To follow College procedures in all matters of which chief examples are Equality, Health & Safety, Assessment Policy and Student Disciplinary Procedures.
8 Attend any relevant meetings organised by the College for the smooth running of the Department and the teaching of the agreed subjects.
9 Contribute to curriculum development initiatives within the Department with regard to the subjects being taught.
10 Participate in staff development activities, as organised by the College and agreed with the Head of Department.
11 Direct, and co-operate with, Support staff as appropriate to maintain the quality of the teaching and the smooth running of all aspects of a course.
12 Co-operate with the Head of Department and other staff, to ensure standards are maintained and the candidates receive the best teaching possible.

14 Attend all organised relevant induction programmes
Grade 5 – £22.37 per hour
Grade 4 – £30.47 per hour
Grade 3 – £35.67 per hour
All terms and conditions of employment for this post are those as laid down by the LNC negotiating committee and are drawn from the conditions of service of the NJC for local authorities’ staff.
